Between Land and Water

Between Land and Water was an enormous, site specific performance directed by Erika Senft Miller. During Burlington's Art Hop, we took over the Community Sailing Center for two large scale choreographed performances. There were over 40 movement artists and athletes, paddleboarders, kayakers and more. I directed the music and worked with the South Burlington Community Choir and the fantastic musicians Shannon Hawley, Adam Wood and Jeremy Frederick to create an improvised score.

The piece is an exploration of liminality and an invitation to discover and respond the dynamic experience that connects land and water. Video and images from the performance were used to create an installation in Burlington City Arts and Shelburne Farm's Land and Local exhibition.
